I am a Clinical Psychologist. I have worked in the NHS since 2005, completing my Doctoral training in Clinical Psychology in 2009. I take a whole systems approach and understanding the difficulties being presented in the context that a person (child, young person or adult) is in for example their family, their school, their work, their social circle. My aim is to work with my client(s) to get to a shared formulation (understanding or story of the problem). When working with someone on their own, we would be thinking about their wider context as well. I like to follow my clients (children, teens, adults) interests to make their journeys more colourful in therapy and using imagery and stories to help understand, make sense of things and make a new story of compassion and emotional wellbeing. My training includes EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Narrative Therapy, Brief Solution Focussed Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Systemic Therapy, Parenting Interventions (Including Incredible Years and the Parent Child Game), Tree of Life. I have worked with children, young people and adults in a range of settings who have had a range of difficulties including: Anxiety; Panic Attacks; Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD); Worries; School refusal; Depression; Grief, Pain, Low Mood; Low Self Esteem; Attachment-based difficulties (relationship difficulties across the lifespan); Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; Self-harm and Suicidal Ideation and Having strange experiences (e.g. hearing voices).
